Re: Best place to get reproduction parts for an 84???
from being on this board for years i feel its a matter of opinion. I have heard good things about LMC Goodmark and all the other parts suppliers yet as one or two rave about good quality and fit, others will say that the same supplier sold thre garbage. Personally I use my trucks for work. As long as they are running, Im not too concerned what they look like. The one truck i did restore i was picking up parts all over. I found that with tweaking and all even the korean parts worked ok. You gotta remember that your truck is 23 years old its not as solid as when it left the factory stuff has shifted a bit and it takes time to shim properly etc.
Id go for the Goodmark ( it appears to be the best from what I hear) if its a show truck otherwise id get korean

Re: Best place to get reproduction parts for an 84???
I usually call our local jobber.......he has yet to be stumped on a part he can't get me. There all decent quality....but I pay for it
Stay away from white box crap, and always insist on new if you can get it As for body parts, I have always had success with Cross Canada, through the same jobber.....everything so far fits really good, and there is quite a selection for our trucks. Then there is always the pick-ur-own yards, for some gently used delco parts that are hard to find, or options that didn't come on your truck Duro |

I have heard good and bad from all vendors , but most of the time parts are usually pretty good, i've had good luck with both LMC and Classic Parts. And they will send you a free catalog as well as Brothers
