I prefer the clean look but if you dig the chrome, dont hesitate, it's YOUR truck, build it for YOU!

Re: what would you do please help
As grinch said it's your truck do as you want. But check how hard it will be to get decent chrome, I'm not sure of the quality of the after market stuff and I'm sure original is pretty tuff to find. Oh by the way I like the original chrome myself, love the stock look, even my son regreted removing his and filling the holes.

Re: what would you do please help
If the previous owner filled the holes by welding them up wouldn't it be hard to reinstall it since everywhere you would need to drill would be filled with weld?
I hate drilling thru weld. Sometimes it's a bugger.Maybe not on sheet metal. Something to think about. |

Re: what would you do please help
Go to a drafting supply store and get some velum paper and go to a wrecking yard with the chrome and mark the locations on the paper, you'll be able to tell through the velum where their at.
Also did you see the other thread where the owner painted the trim on, looks pretty good.

Re: what would you do please help
My buddy used the "double stick" adhesive tape to put his on. You may think this sounds "cheap"... but you cannot tell the difference until you have to take it off, and believe me it sticks! Just a thought...
