Quarter panels for a 72 blazer
Hello
I am new to this form so please forgive me if I am in the wrong place to ask this question. I have a 1972 blazer that I have owned since it rolled off the car carrier. My son and I are looking to restore it the problem is I cannot find quarter panels for it I need the complete panels that roll all the way up over under the cap. the cap has never been off but the quarters is rotted right alone the line were the roof meets the cap plus it has been hit in both quarters and the floor is rotted out. Dose any one know of a source for such parts. Any web site or contact will be appreciated greatly. I was told that at one time someone made a complete rear unit out of fiberglass, is this true. Also can I use quarters off a short bed pickup Thanks for all your help. Pete |

Re: qQarter panels for a 72 blazer
You can use a set of short wheel base fleetside truck fenders to get the top rail that you are looking for then you will have to match the front up with the back of the door pillar. The only reporduction parts from vendors that I know of are patch panels but do not have the top rail like you are looking for.
There are a lot of good vendors if you browse through here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/links/browselinks.php?c=2 and from St. Augustine, FL

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! You can try the vendors or subscribe and post a Wanted To Buy thread on the parts board (I've seen them for sale there before).

Re: qQarter panels for a 72 blazer
cut down some short bedsides to fit. Leave the door jamb area of your Blazer in tact and then cut a couple of inches past that so you can over lap the new bedsides to that so you do not have to rebuild the door jamb. They make a tool where you can put a step in the panel

Re: Quarter panels for a 72 blazer
Just as an update on the fiber glass tub I found the company that was going to produce it but because of lack of interest the company never finished the mold. Mybe now at this time if there was a big intrest they might consider making it I think they were ahead of there time what do you think.the company is http://www.usbody.com/. Jive them a call maybe they will consider doing it now.
