Re: tranny help needed
It's fairley easy if you don't mind working on your back. Raise truck up on blocks or jackstands to give you some room to move, remove driveline from trans so gear oil can drain out of tailshaft. Remove speedo cable and shift linkage from the 2 shifting ears on the side of trans. Remove lower inspection cover from bottom of bell housing, remove 4 large bolts holding trans to bellhousing and pull trans straight back until you can remove it. You should be able to remove t/out bearing, pressure plate and clutch disk from bottom of bellhousing. It would be a good idea to remove flywheel and have it surfaced at a machine shop, but it is not absolutely necessary. Do all steps in reverse order for reassembly.
