I'm new to the forum....
Hey everybody, i'm sitting on MCAS New River right now. Marine Sgt. i've got a 1982 chevy longbed that i'm looking for some hot motor to put into it. i'm doing research on what a good swap is so if anybody could put me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.

Re: I'm new to the forum....
Welcome to the board from Maryland & a big thanks for doing what you do
You might find something in the FAQ section, or you can try using the search option....the choices are pretty much limitless with what type of swap you can do...but budgets rarely are

Re: I'm new to the forum....
thanks guys. here's some pictures and i'm on a 5000 engine budget. i'm thinking 383 or 350. T&L Performance has a 383 Stroker with 420 hp turn key for 4700. so i'm leaning towards that one. later, guys junk

Re: I'm new to the forum....
thanks guys. well i made my mind up kinda unexpected. i found a 300 hp 305, cam, head work, .030 over, full exhaust, headers, th350, 2000 stall tq converter, hei distributor, 2 intake edlebrock intake manifolds, q-jet 750 carb, for 500 bucks. one of my SSgt's was cleaning out his garage and said he'd give my 500 bucks to take anything he didn't want out of there. i had to take off a whole lot more junk, but he just pulled that motor a month ago out of his malibu to drop in a 383. so i know all the motor and stuff are good. but i couldn't pay all that up for 500 bucks. it'll get me down the road while i build a bigger motor
