truck wrecked today : (
Today I was with our club, on our way to a car show at the Daniel Boone home in Defiance MO. We were stopped on a steep hill, one of our members was slowing for a stop behind me & BAMMM.. slammed into me & pushed me into another members truck. Turns out a brake line ruptured on Larrys truck as he was slowing to a stop behind me, no time to react, plowed right into me. Ill have pics to share soon.
Nobody was hurt, thankfully, thats whats imortant.

I know how you feel man. It's probably one of the sickest feelings you can have.
Let us know how this unfolds and hopefully it all can be repaired. |

Re: truck wrecked today : (
what it boils down to is its a hunk of metal. Yes I really like it. yes its kinda rare & unique, but in the end, its not so valuable after all. Im really not that sick over it, Im more thankful nobody was hurt. Ironically, if I wouldnt have been there for larry to run into, he would have not been able to stop & would have gone off a very steep hill, & likely been severly injured if not killed. LOL Im glad I was able to prevent this.
Hopefully itll be fixed. I dont do body work, so Ill likely have Premium do it again. They did the body work & paint a little over a year ago, & I was pleased with the work.

yep good attitude about it.people are more important than machines.doesn't take away the suck factor for your truck though.i had a cool old ford smashed one time.it came out of it nicer than before.so there is hope.

Re: truck wrecked today : (
Really sorry to hear about this but I'll agree that the most important thing is your all ok. I went through the same thing when my #2 son was driving my '71 Malibu & got hit head on. I can put it back together but would have been at a loss on how to fix Chuck if he had got hurt. If you have kept your receipts you should be able to get your friends insurance to pay for the repairs. It took me about a year & a lawsuit to get the company I was dealing with to pay up & I had all my receipts with an appraisial to boot.

Re: truck wrecked today : (
Actually thats not as bad as i thought it was gonna be.
Still sux tho. Maybe consider a rear bumper thats one reason i don't run a rollpan the bumper may have prevented the cab damage but who know's. |

Re: truck wrecked today : (
thanks everyone. adjuster looked at it today, looks like about 7K in damage. My body guy will present an estimate tomorrow, shouldnt be a problem.
a bumper may have saved it from some of the damage, cept because its also lowered, my bumper would be lower than alot of other bumpers anyway. BTW Larry is my friend and club per whos truck ran into mine.
