Solid axle camber adjustment...
Correct me if im wrong, but if the tops of my wheel face outwards and wear the outside of the tires, that means i have positive camber... Correct? I have a dana 60 in the front of my truck and i have replaced EVERYTHING on it so far. its basically brand new. but now i need to figure out how to adjust the camber on it. its eating my tires alive. Is there some sort of shim that goes behind the spindle or something? and if it is a shim... where does it go and how do i get the right one?

yes, top of wheels spread out is positive camber, no sure how to adjust yours though...

Is it eating the edges off?, or wearing half the tire?
Excessive toe will chew the edges off tires, and camber will wear half the tire Duro

pull your kingpins apart and check their condition. if they're good, find another Dana 60, yours is bent.

I think Fords have a cam adjuster. As you turn it, the" offset hole will change the degree of camber. I would think that the others would have some way to adjust it too.

There is no camber adjustment on most straight axles, Dana's included (not really anyway, there are some things on the market to do a half a$$ job of it). Have you checked to see if your bearings are tight and your ball joints aren't worn out? If every thing is tight, then I agree that you might have a bent housing.
Sometimes your eyes can play tricks on you with the way the wheels and tires look, are you sure that your wheel has positive camber? (as in have you had it checked or measured it?) It may well be that your tires are worn becasue of too much toe-in. I believe that would me much more likely than a bent housing.

The guys here helped me out on this very problem not too long ago. My D44 solid front axle burb chewed through some BFG 37" A/Ts on the outer edge pretty quickly - around 5k miles was all it took to get them worn on the edges badly.
I always thought my truck had positive camber too, and I too thought I had a camber issue because it looked like to top of the tire stuck out. I took the truck in for alignment, and the guy said my toe was TOTALLY out of whack- way too much toe in. He aligned it, and the truck is right as rain, and the tires appear to be more straight up and down. Must be an optical illusion though. Maybe too much toe from the front gives the appearance of positive camber? Funny thing, someone said I probably had a bent axle case too... No way. Take her in for an alignment. On our trucks, it's only a $50 venture since all they can really do is center the wheel and set toe.
