Can any one help me with a question on steering column compatability

Hi all im kinda sure what the answer on this might be but i would rather ask people who would know better than i anyway my question is will a tilt steering column that is said to fit 79-87 truck/blazer/suburban fit into my 1977 silverado ive been truckless a month now waiting on a new column that was promised to me by a friend an it looks like he has flaked out so im goin to have to buy 1 and i want to be sure i buy 1 that will fit. tyvm for all answers in advance

It will fit as far as bolting up the big difference is in the wiring harness and wiper switch location. It was changed in 1984. The wiper switch was moved from the dash to the turn signal stalk. You will need a column from a 1983 or earlier for it to work in your 1977. ...Joe

im glad i asked i didnt think about the change in the wiper switch location i wonder if maybe they miss labeled the year on the column bcause in the pics it looks exacty like mine an the turn signal switch looks like mine and not like it has the wiper controls on it but know i know i better ask about that b4 messing with it thats for sure tyvm for all replies
