wrecked truck
My buddies 87 short bed got drilled in the back. The frame is all twisted, the bed is trash, and the cab and doors are rusty. It has a good engine, transmission, and front clip. The guy who hit it didn't have insurance, so he is kinda out of luck. He asked me if I wanted to buy it, but I don't have any idea how much it is worth. Oh yeah, I have a good frame and cab just sitting around collecting dust. I don't want to pay too much, but he is my friend and I don't want to try and pay too little either.

Re: wrecked truck
I wouldn't give over $1000 for it personally, I probably wouldn't even give that much.

Re: wrecked truck
I see complete drivable trucks on craigslist for 450-850 all the time. Unless the motors is fresh, I would offer 650.00 at best.

Re: wrecked truck
I'm with them I was thinking under $500 for it.
Sometimes you can find cheap deals as listed above, and others you do like me, give $700 for a body, no motor, no trans., busted rear end, guttd interior and other various pieces gone. In need of paint and some bodywork also. Sounds like all you are buying is maybe the front clip and the motor/trans. I'd think less then 500 is good. I mean you can fix rusty parts with skins to cover them up or new pieces cut out and welded in, but hey if you got a better one laying around might as well make good use out of it. I think if you want to offer without it being low and cuz it's a friend if you got it say $500 and take her home. Personally I'd offer less, but I know how it is. I'd say like maybe 3-400 somewhere in that area, but if you can do it and want to make a decent offer, say 5. if he turns it down I'd pass on it.

Re: wrecked truck
Been awhile, but my buddy and I were watching football Sunday and he said he doesn't want to mess with the truck so I could have it!!! I think my 69 is going to get a new engine and the front disc conversion. I will probably have questions whenever I get around to swapping everything. It has the whole tbi engine and a new transmission two years ago.

Re: wrecked truck
Here it is...it looks like the frame is still good from what I could see. The drivers side leaf spring is just ripped off the frame.

Re: wrecked truck
I have a good cab sitting around, so I might think about getting is back on the road. Is that airbag setup any good that was in sport truck a couple months ago where they did it at the car show. I think it was chassis tech or something. I think it was pretty reasonably priced.

Re: wrecked truck
I've never dealt with them personally, but I've heard about a million times that Chassis Tech (AIM Industries) is very not bueno.
