What's it from?
Anyone care to guess what the grill parts are from on this? I have a couple of ideas, but want to see what y'all think.
Please dont turn it into a bash-fest...

Re: What's it from?
That looks like a grille that they used to sell for the 73-80 trucks in the J.C.Whitney catalog way back in the late 70s to early 80s if memory serves me.
I know that I have seen that grill somewhere before a VERY LONG time ago, and I'm sure that it was sold in the J.C.Whitney catalog. I'm very curious to see if my memory is right so don't keep us in suspense too long! ...Joe

Re: What's it from?
I have no clue and I am pretty sure I am wrong, but how about a Mercury Cougar. I know they typically had closer fins though... My guesses are a Mercury or a Plymouth.

Re: What's it from?
Damn! I thought I was on to something. They look light tail lights to me off a late 70's sedan.

Re: What's it from?
I'm with the rest of you the first thing that came to me was it's something from a Jeep.
But it's probably something offered from the aftermarket Industry. It's definitely different thats for sure. |

Re: What's it from?
i will have to admit that my first reaction was a jeep grill. did some searching of classic jeeps and nothing seemed to fit. then thought about the muscle car tail light idea but again nothing seemed right. i haven't been around as long as some to recall the 70's and 80's aftermarket. it almost seems to be a two part grill that had something between it. like they were inserts of a larger grill that had a chrome spar down the middle with and emblem maybe. then i started thinking that maybe it was once a big semi grill that was sectioned and rechromed... i dunno. got me stumped.
then there's the headlights. almost looks like a bezel that was turned inside out and chromed. was it from the same vehicle? i might just very well lay awake late thinking about it. |

Re: What's it from?
I will have to say 70's or 80's aftermarket as well. It has a Jeep or Dodge vibe, but I would think it's a little disrespectful to AMC/Dodge designers of that time to say it actually came on a vehicle from the factory....

Re: What's it from?
I am pretty certain it is not of an International, did a quick web search last night on scouts and none looked anything like that. Also pretty sure it's not off a jeep, well at least the full size wagoneer. I don't really have a clue what it is.
