Water in tank?
Well I was trying to get the truck running again tonight and I borrowed a carb from a friend. When I went to remove it, I noticed water in the intake. So when I emptied the carb, there was as much water in it as gas. So there is water in my tank.
I put a quart of Methyl Hydrate in it tonight and will leave it sit till tomorrow. Is there any other suggestion other than dropping the tank? If I drop the tank I might as well change the sending unit too since my gas gauge doesn't work. I just want to get it running to I can get it "certified" for the road and put plates on it. OH BTW I have about 5 gallons of gas in there right now, maybe a bit more.

Re: Water in tank?
siphon it down and drop the tank if the other stuff doesn't help, you probably don't want it to "sit" though as the gas will settle to the bottom.

Re: Water in tank?
I spent a few hours tonight fighting with the tank, trying to drop it. I finally won the battle. I will have a good look at the tank tomorrow to see if there are any holes that would allow the water to get in, or maybe it is getting in through the sending unit. I wanted to change the sending unit due to a wacky fuel gauge.

Re: Water in tank?
Quick update. Well I checked the tank out and it was previously repaired with fiberglass, and now it is all falling apart. I looked inside and there was a good 1/2" of water in there. I managed to siphon about 1 gallon of water and there is still at least another gallon in there.
Time to get a new ( used )tank and a new sending unit. This just pushes the on road date back, dammit.
