Parts/accessories for stepside?

Hi there. I have an '86 chevy stepside 4wd, and i've been looking for a good place to buy replacement parts, and accessories for it. The main thing i'm looking for is a roll bar, or something similar to hold my lights for plowing in the winter.

What are some of the sites you guys would recommend for this type of thing?
I already know of lmc, and they look pretty good for parts, but i'm a little stuck on finding a rollbar for the stepside bed. Anybody know of a good fabrication place?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Matt

Are you wanting a roll bar that mounts in the bed? Most plow setups I have seen have the lights mounted up front on the plow unit itself.

Re: Parts/accessories for stepside?

Yes, i'm looking for one that mounts to the bed. I do have the lights that are on the plow frame, but they are not exactly great at giving off light. The roll bar would also hold my 4 light amber beacon.
I pulled the pressure treated bed rails/ cab guard thing off, before it fell off. And now i need something to mount that amber light, and a couple lights facing front and back so i can see better.

thanks for the reply.

If you just need something to hang lights on go to a muffler shop and have them bend you up some exhaust pipe. You could make it like any other roll bar for a fraction of the price and it WILL fit your truck.

Re: Parts/accessories for stepside?

I have one similar to this one but it is only a single tube in the front. It was made by Hooker products. I bought it new in '95 for my '83 stepside. I took it out when I repainted the truck and never put it back in. I sold the truck but the bar is still in my storage building. If you are interested I can dig it out this weekend and get some pics. It was in good shape when I pulled it out of the truck but the chrome might have a little surface rust by now.

Re: Parts/accessories for stepside?

thanks for the replies, i really appreciate it.

Restorob: Thats a great idea, i had never even thought about a muffler shop, that sounds like the perfect plan, i will definetly look into that. Thank you.

79silv4x4: I dont want you to go through any trouble for me. That double/single was the one i was looking for, but i wasnt sure i wanted to shell out $800 for a new one(i'd probably just rebuild the PT frame that was on there, which i might end up doing anyway, for this year anyways.)

thanks again you guys

Re: Parts/accessories for stepside?

I bought one on ebay for the 86 we had, and I know advanced auto sells them and I've seen them in LMC's catalog so I'd try one of those.

Jcwhitney may hae them also, or another truck place specific to 73-87's.
