Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
I ran across some bucket seats similar to the ones Joe67 is trying to sell. See link (Joe67, I hope you don't mind me using it as a reference).
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ighlight=seats I'm considering purchasing these for my second row seats. Two questions: 1. Any install issues I should know about 2. Will they match in shape and size close enough to the original 69 bucket seats up front. Plan would be to have them all recovered in a similar pleather/houndstooth pattern. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

I always wanted to get a set of buddy buckets to use as a secound row seat but the price of them is to much for me.

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
I went back and measured the seats, the buckets measure very very close to mine, within tolerance with the exception of the stand height.
So I told the guy I wanted them. They also come with a matching backseat.

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
Since no one has any experience, how about some opinions. I know everyone has those!
I went ahead and bought them, paid $80 bucks for them. Now I have to find an upholstery shop. I'm debating black pleather with gray pleather inserts vs black with the white and black houndstooth inserts ....

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
So you'll have 2 rows of buckets plus a third row? That would be ideal. Plus with the buckets in the second row and no console you can access the third row by walking between them.
I'd go that route myself if I had three rows, but that's no longer an option for me. |

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
The problem I had replacing the rear seat was the new seat height. I was higher than my rollbar when I sat in the seat.

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
Since ColoradoK5 so kindly asked for pics, I went ahead and tossed them in the sub today.
I'm liking it. I just need to find a good shop in the area to recover now. I'll need to fab some shims or brackets for the second row, but should be easy enough.

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
I like it I wonder if you can use the seat foam from a set like oyu have in the front to make them match.

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
That's what I'd do; buy new foam and all new covers, them put them on yourself. Probably cheaper that paying a shop to do just 2 covers.
That's a sweet set-up! Last edited by Frizzle Fry; 08-16-2007 at 06:49 PM. |

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
Do you have any recommendations on suppliers for foam and covers?

That there is what you call Quad Seating. My 2004 burb has two rows of buckets and a third bench.

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
I found a place local, quoted me $850 for recovering everything in black pleather, this included foam repair. Inserts would be extra. I saw some of their work, looked good.

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
Earl87gta, Wanna here something funny? I looked at your sub last September while on vacation with the family on the way to the Smoky's. I thought it was awesome. I just couldn't pay what he was asking.
Almost a year later I ended up with the one I have now. It only took two years for me to find it! Oh, I almost forgot, I'm a Hollywood Marine!!!!!

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
Ya my wife still thinks Im crazy I gave a 2wd away that had a body in the same shape as this one . I bought it for a little less then he wanted for it I sold my trial rig blazer and used the cash to get the burb . I drove it for a while until the trans went out then I decided to rebuild it. It was origanly going to be my beater until my 2nd blazer was done but I ended up down sizing the fleet so now this one is getting the works.

Re: Has anybody used blazer buckets as a second row?
The second row seats will need some custom brackets or shims. Haven't got that far yet, so not sure what I will end up with.
