Looking for an old ratty camper shell....

I was thinking about putting one of those old, 60's style aluminum camper shells on the Chief.......What you think ?

I have been looking for a Ratty one to compliment the ratty look of my truck.

Primer that baby up, and head out to Half Moon Bay with my son.

Anyone have or know where I could find one ??

I've seen them before tossed on the sides of roads.

Thanks....

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/pts/406549302.html and one more.. I think you are looking for an aluminum one. Some in the last post are not for a full size truck.. Sorry .. But Craigslist is a place to look.. look under free stuff and auto parts..

Re: Looking for an old ratty camper shell....

I have a blue and white BMB cover for my truck. I think it is wide enough for a fleetside. It has aluminum siding and bulging windows on it. It is really ugly, but in pretty good shape. Let me know if you want a picture.

Re: Looking for an old ratty camper shell....

Here you go. It has been sitting outside for a while. On second thought, I don't think it will fit a fleetside. BMB tops were really popular in the 80s around here. Now they look so ugly. Picture this top on my truck. Matching color W@W C@@L. Its for sale if anyone wants it. I don't know what its worth.

Re: Looking for an old ratty camper shell....

Chief -

Saw a rust & oxidized red Caravan style for sale near my house the other day. Same style as the blue an white one in the pic above.... But, older and aged.

If you want, I can get a pic or two, the price and contact number - if it's still there.

Let me know.

- Dave

Also, saw this one on Craigslist (Truckee)

Re: Looking for an old ratty camper shell....

Right on Sal....How often do you go to Alviso ??

From my shop, it's just right down Laffeyette.

We just did a job for a guy out there....He built a MASSIVE shop/home and we put in the commercial doors for him.

Let me know what you find
