Heads
my truck blew a gasket near a water jacket. Its most likely from age engine has 220,000 miles on it and i dont see any older rebuilds. But know for the question.
Im cleaning the surfaces just as the book tells me. But an i read on it says to use sealint for metal and not for another. What im putting on is the blue ones that are paper with metal in the middle. Do i install these dry wor with some sealent. Next any one have any advise for the install it has a sequence and all but book goes to 87 and the engine is a 89 same engine as far as i know it the tbi engines. if some one has info on this engine on a torge spects for the heads and the sequence that would be great.

Re: Heads
As far as i've ever heard, never use any kind of sealer on a head gasket. Install them all dry, but you'll probably wanna check with others to get a second opinion.
The torque specs should be the same for newer heads as well. |
