What is the easiest way to add the stainless trim piece behind the cab for two tone paint, on a truck that doesn't have the studs for the clips???

Do they make some type of screws to add this option?.

Use (I think) a #10 sheet metal screw for where each stud would be. I did this on my truck.... If you already have the plastic clips, take those with you to the hardware store to find the right size screwhead that fits into the locking part of the clip....

When you drill the hole, make sure you realize there is a gas tank on the other side of the sheet metal!

i would make shure if you use a screw that you also put a little paint on where your holes are, for rust protection.... is there rivits<spell that goes there from the factory? just wondering

oh ok i know the stud your talking about....... alot of gm cars and trucks have that same stud... would rivits work better?

I was watching TRUCKS! on sunday and they were showing all the things you could use a stud gun for. Pulling dents and adding the studs for trim were a couple uses

i bought screws and clips from a co called florida fastener. google them. i think they sell on ebay they have all kinds of fasteners for every thing

I haven't found anything yet on the board vendor sites for these studs. I think the screws should work.

the 67-72 Truck Assembly Manual even lists the intervals at which the stud (or in your case) the screws are factory located. saw that today as I looked through my manual while getting duals installed on my baby. YEAH!!!!

Chevy Duty or whatever they are called now ( Classic Parts )sells the clips and screw in replacements for studs, but as far as I know they were the only ones.

I've seen the the kits but never saw the replacement studs before. My dad needs them for his truck!

You can buy pop rivits that hold the clips in place. You drill the 1/8 inch hole put the pop rivit in and slide the clip on. I have used them at work and they work good. If do use the rivits I would put a dab of sealer on the rivit when you install it.
