C4 Install? for Nathan Porter
Nathan I am installing the C4 rear. The guy doing my fabrication is thinking about building a ladder bar type setup. I was wondering if you think this will work without binding. He is planning on mounting the bags on the top bar.

Re: C4 Install? for Nathan Porter
I would not recommend using a ladder bar design... it would definitly bind, especially with the factory links and bushings. I saw a similar set-up a while back on a 55-57 truck... he used a ladder bar style link, but changed ALL the factory links and used heims in place of the rubber bushings to help eliminate binding.
I would stick with a four-link design. Why not run the bag off the upper four link bar? It would definitely need some reinforcement, and a nice trussed gusset on the bar, but would do the job.

Thanks, man I was worried about the binding. If you use hiems on just the rearend would that eliminate the bind? Also dont forget about those pics!!

Re: C4 Install? for Nathan Porter
hey Nathan, i have talked to several people about installing the C4. Several have said to sell it! Others say the ladder bar wont work. I was just wondering how well you setups work. Are you having binding problems? What are some good ways to mount the bag? I dont want a canti setup like you do. I want to have a stock looking floor.

If your not able to meet all the desired criteria you may need to rethink the rear-end.

Re: C4 Install? for Nathan Porter
Do the link bars require heims at both ends. Or can you get away with a heim and a rubber end? Can you mount the bag on the bar and use two heims, or will the bar twist? Sorry for all the questions!
