Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
OK guys, my friend arrived this morning, we unloaded it before turkey dinner.
It is an 03 lq9 out of escalade. No intake, ecm, injectors,tb, and a few other things, pretty much a longblock, but I am stoked. I am going to need some serious help with this, but I feel I can get it done, I have patience. I was checking on an 05 escalade intake/injectors/rails on ebay, this should bolt right up, but I want to do cable throttle. Can I with these intakes? Is there mounting bosses on the intake or what? I'll keep my questions in this thread. Thanks for any help..

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
you have to be careful with the intakes. Some of them are for the electric throttle bodies and some are for the cable style tb's. Where you are now you may want to look into picking up and LS6 intake. If you go the truck intake route, I have one from an 2003 truck if you are interested. I also have all of the truck accesories.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
What kinda performance are you after? A set of L92 heads and L76 intake with a mild/moderate cam would make for an absolute monster......

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Well, here's the carnage shots. Ended up having a broken rod, and cracked piston.
Can probably salvage some stuff from it. Heads are still good, no damage. For free, I won't cry!

I'm sure you know, but if not most of those are torque to yield bolts.

Skip the 4L60E, get the 4L80E if you plan to do anything to it in the future.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
It's back on!!!!!
Got a little something done today. Got all the wiring disconnected so I can take off the front clip. Got the radiator out, and all hoses disconnected. Just did what I could today, my father in law came out and helped me, I'm hoping by next weekend the 305/th350 will be out so I can get the 6.0/4l80e in! Sending off the harness to speartech this week. Just been so busy with work, have had no time in the evening to do much of anything. I did have time to get the intake, rails, injectors and exhaust manifolds off new motor, and bought lokar oil dipstick, throttle cable, tranny dipstick, and shift linkage.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I got the Painless for my swap. It was here in about 8 days.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku I would get it for this price though... When I ordered mine I found it advertised for $525.95 http://www.jegs.com/i/Painless/764/60217/10002/-1

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
305/th350 is out.
Waiting on a few parts to put on the new motor before I put it in, and take some time to clean up the engine bay. Wiring harness sent to speartech this week. They say about 3-4 week turnaround on that. I forgot my camera today I'll get some pics this evening or tomorrow.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Made a little progress this weekend. Got the engine bay cleaned and touched up with some rattle can.
Tried to get the new tank back in, a little "oversight" on the sending unit and an to hard tube adapters...sending unit pipes are pretty long and I did not cut them short enough, could not get the braided hose/fittings to clear inside of frame. Putting in a new tank is a b.... So, I had to find some new compression ferrules...I got the 3/8, but 5/16 is odd ball, might try hardware store this week. Cut the pipes on the sending unit shorter, hopefully that is all I will need, if not, gonna have to buy another sending unit and figure something out. I'd rather dig holes in 100 degree heat than deal with this fuel line situation. I want to get it done before I drop the motor in, so hopefully this week. If not, motor/tranny is going in this next weekend anyway. Maybe by next week, the rest of the parts I need will be in.

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
Sounds like progress.
So, are you going with a single stock tank, or ??? What about the fuel pump?

Re: Finally!!! 6.0 POWAH!!!!
I'm just going with stock pass. side tank and internal pump, then to vette filter/regulator.
