Does anyone reproduce the choke bezel?
I have seen the wiper/headlight bezel for sale from the Truck Shop, but I would like to do all of them so it matches. I looked in the LMC and Brothers truck parts catalogs and it appears that none of those three reproduce the choke bezel, or the choke with the stock knob for a 65.
Also, I ordered a cigerette lighter because the PO, my brother, removed it and put a new choke there because the cable wasn't long enough to reach. How does the lighter attach? I have the part and it looks like it needs to be held in position from the bottom side. Last edited by Tomsriv; 01-27-2008 at 03:11 AM. |

Re: Does anyone reproduce the choke bezel?
they should try chevy duty as for lighter i think the pice that holds it from the botems is like the one on the ignition its a flat nut looks like a home made sheet matal nut that backs to the bezelk and a a collets type nut should sandwich the bezel between the two

Re: Does anyone reproduce the choke bezel?
I believe they are kind of a one piece unit, the bezel and collar part that holds the cable are the same unit.
run the business end through hole in dash, slide nut onto cable ,thread cable through firewall, tighten up nut at backside of dash. My factory ones have the knob molded right on,repros might be diifferent. Hope this helps T

Re: Does anyone reproduce the choke bezel?
The factory throttle cable is retained in the dash bezel with the bezel nut. The throttle knob unscrews from the trottle cable and is inserted into the dash bezel from the backside. The bezel nut tightens onto the throttle cable assembly and the throttle knob is screwed on.
I am not aware of any aftermarket suppliers providing the throttle cable bezel nut. I have a number of them in my inventory, if you need a good, used bezel nut. The cigarette lighter is a two piece assembly. The two pieces unscrew from each other. The male piece drops into the dash bezel from the top and the female piece secures it to the dash bezel from the backside by threading the two pieces together. The lighter element can then be inserted into the assembly. I hope this information is helpful. |
