How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

Here a couple for now. If we get this going well maybe it can be our first sticky!

Re: Post pics of truck drag racing or racing trucks

Well not mad at you, but like crazy mad. I was so close to selling my motor and droping some decent money on a 4" stroke L98 (418 CI LS1) to get in the high 9's on the bottle. Then I came back to reality and decided to keep this motor for a while since it is fresh and works fairly well and lighten my truck, see what I can do with the motor that is in it.

Weight makes a crazy difference. I really want a bigger motor myself. I want to do an ls motor in my dads old 79 toyota for my son to race!

What's up man....another Ft. Worth member....awesome.

Mine's just has a 468, th350 on a 150 shot. the 468 is very mild....stock 781's, air gap intake and a small solid flat tappet cam. Mine has absolutely no suspension work, in fact it is stiff as a board. The tire and the trailing arms help me get out of the hole. I am getting ready to open a gear shop in the area. You are more than welcome to send me a PM and we can meet sometime.

My truck has 10 inch wheels in the rear and 3 1/2's in the front. The rear of my truck is c notched with trailing ams coilovers and an antiroll. I have a fatman mustang II front suspension. Its pretty low but I don't actually know how much drop.

Re: Post pics of truck drag racing or racing trucks

Yeah, I'm starting to try and take weight out. Took the front bumper off the other day and cut the frame horns back. I'm going to build a roll pan for it. I might actually make it more of a square bumper looking piece.

Yanked the heater box as well.

I have a Vega Steering box that I need to go find a pitman arm for, that will get rid of the steering pump and big huge power box.

Any sugestions on a OEM dual resevor manual brake master? That's another thing I was to swap out.

Those are the weight savings on the cheap, I want to buy a glass hood first, then fenders, maybe nose come too. But that will be in stages.

I was thinking about cutting out the factory front cross member and redoing it in 2x3 .120 or .180 wall... But that might be a ton of work for very little savings.

Reviving this old thread on a question. Would that Vega box bolt in to my 64 2wd?? I'm trying to get rid of this leaky, crappy power steering setup I have and have a temporary fix until I get the rack and pinion.. Ebay has a full setup right now for 140 shipped. Wondering if this would be a good route to go??

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

Hi 64 the vega box doesn't directly bolt into your truck. the mounts are wrong and the output shaft is too short anything can be made to fit as long as the pitman arm will bolt up.:
