brake line trouble
 Man!! I spent a ton of time replacing my brake lines. I ran all new brake line from the rear to the M/C by piecing 1/4" line together with connectors. I bench bled the master and bled the brakes. Two of the 1/4" connectors were leaking. I tighten them up but still leaking. I was so frustrated I ripped everything out from the front to back. I am going to pick up a roll of brakeline and run one long line from the back to the M/C....Should have done it that way in the first place!! Anyone have success running one line?

Brake line hard line must be double flared with a correct union between for the flare to seat. Many times overtighening brake lines can provide leaks.........I think your doing the right thing with less junctions.

i bet you have a cracked flare i have had that problem before you tighten the fitting to tight and you crack the flare itself.

yea I doubled flared.....maybe I did overtighten. well its off to the parts store for some brake line!..thanks

you can purchase a double flare kit at most parts store. I got mine from harbor freight

 bought 25' of 1/4" coiled brake line. worked great! would be hard to do if the motor was still in though! For anyone replacing their brake lines, don't make the mistake i made and try to piece things together

Just purchased a double flare kit from Harbor Freight for $13.00. You can buy brake line and all of the hardware at Advanced Auto, Pep Boys or Napa

when you make the double flare yourself don't do the final flare all the way. finish it off by inserting it into the union and tightening. it make for a leak-proof seal. I have done so many brake lines it isn't funny.

68c15...that is a great tip. the second part of the flare i was cranking down real hard. Prob. wasn't seating correctly in the union.
