Question Blower motor replacement

It looks to me like the hood hinge has to come off to replace the blower motor (72 K5 w factory AC). Anyone know for sure?

Re: Blower motor replacement

not necessary, but makes it a lot easier (from what I have read)...

See if this helps (it is for a non-A/C though)

Re: Blower motor replacement

I just take the hinge off, with or without a/c. Its quicker, and easier.

Re: Blower motor replacement

ARe you sure the motor is bad? Many of the A/C trucks loose one or two of the speeds due to faulty grounds or bad relay over the heater box behind the glove box. I think 9 of 10 trucks I have parted out have had mice nests or mice damage to the little barrel fan on the motor~~~. Huck

Re: Blower motor replacement

The motor works. I'm just tired of the squealing bearings.
