Aluminum Intake with Oil Fill Tube?

Do they make such a thing?

Aftermarket Aluminum 4 bbl intake with a provision to install an oil filler tube.

Do you just have to make this yourself?

Anyone tried it before.

May just have to go the cast iron route...

I found this one, I guess you just hammer it in there with some sealer?

Hmmm, maybe a press fit? I was also thinking you might be able to throw the intake in the oven, the filler in the freezer(while your significant other is not home of course!), and hopefully this will create enoungh of a gap to slip one inside the other.

The Edelbrock is correct.

I'm running one on my 68 Camaro with 327. I used the original filler tube from my stock intake. I don't remember having any trouble installing it, a gentle friction fit, nothing too forceful. Seal it with some silicone.

And almost forgot...get an Edelbrock carb too; inexpensive and it'll run great right out of the box. I have had great luck with mine x 4 years now.

The edelbrock performer and the standard performer rpm have the boss where you can have the hole drilled. I`ve see several of them like that.

No need to drill if you order the right one. The 2703 comes with the hole and a chrome fill tube. See the pic above.

Well I don`t know what the rpm range is on the 2703 since I`ve never heard of it but based on your pic I`d say it`d pretty much a stock replacement intake. Alot of people including myself want more of a performance intake but still keep the look of the old style intake. What do those 2703 intakes go for?

For about half you can find a good used performer rpm and just drill the hole.

The old style oil tube was one of the best ideas that Chevy unfortunately eliminated in 1968. I would much rather pour oil into the tube than run the risk of spilling it all over the exhaust manifolds, like the later style. The later style does help unclutter the engine a little bit, though.

For a truck, you need the torque curve in that range or lower. Takes a lot to get a heavy vehicle moving.

There are several older aftermarket aluminum intakes with the oil fill tube. I just picked up an Edelbrock C4B which is very similar to the factory corvette 4bbl intake. The only catch to the C4B is rear runner clearance to the distributor. HEI will likely not clear without the help of a grinder but I like the looks of a stock dizzy anyway.

You should not have to pay more than $50 for the C4B on ebay.

If you run across the C3B it will work fine. It was intended for the big 3bbl Holley and has a notch to clear its one piece secondary plate.

I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. It has a place for the oil fill tube. My Dad's buddy machined a hole for me and I tapped the tube in with a rubber mallet a little silicone... Here's a pic...
