Front crossemember weight (Any one have theirs off their truck)?
Anyone have their front crossmember off their truck right now? I would love to know what it weighs. Preferably with out the control arms, spindles ect. But If you don't have it apart, I'll take the total weight.
Thanks in advance. |

Re: Front crossemember weight (Any one have theirs off their truck)?
i have a couple of em right now. you didn't give a year. my '68 is probably around 60-70lbs, and the '77 is probably +5lbs over that.
i don't have a scale to weight it with. i'm just going by how much i can dead lift, and how much strain i gotta put into lifting it. it probably weighs about as much as a 20" wheel + tire.

Thanks guys.. My plan is to cut the center section out and put some 2x4 .120 in it's place to shave some weight on my 63 drag truck. I'll re-use the spring pockets..

Honestly, I figured I was dead wrong. Speaking of your truck, is that thing finished yet?!!

Well i ran into a small problem. I spent all my money. It is okay though because I have an idea and it doesn't include any jail time
