Hello big fan of this place but haven't been around for awhile. Work to much play to little but that may change soon. Anyway I am going down to Oklahoma to look at a 72 Cheyenne long bed VERY soon. My question is this and maybe it's nothing but it's about C10 verses C20's...I'm thinking of buying this truck and it's a C20 and the lady says that she almost sold it recently but the guy didn't want it because it was a C20. Why was that a concern? Aren't the C20's a heavier duty truck? Where on the truck other than the emblems does the truck indicate C10 or C20? Is it in the vin number or just the sticker in the glove box? Also what is the difference between SUPER Cheyenne and Cheyenne? This truck has a Big Block that's original to truck and that's why I want it because I need a truck with some POWER BABY...YEAH. Anyway why would someone prefer the C10 over the C20? Need answers to these questions soon...Thanks

the c20 is a 3/4 ton, its coded in the vin and on the glove box, has 8 lugs and heavier suspension, people have c10's so people want a c10, main things are the same, cab and bed, dash and seats, all controls, slight differences as in body mounts emblems and wheels.

There are a lot more suspension and brake upgrades for a C-10 as opposed to a C-20.
But being as it's a '72 you'll already have front disk brakes. I have a '69 C-20 and love it...

Plus C-20's are harder to lower, ride rougher, have 8 lugs instead of 5, etc.

Ok and what is the difference between Super Cheyenne and Cheyenne? This truck has the original 402. According to the lady it's a C20 Cheyenne....were all 402 powered Cheyennes C20's? There is a C10 Cheyenne here that has the Tack and A/C but is 350 powered. Anyway I'm kind of lost on what the difference between Cheyenne and Super Cheyenne is. Thought about turning it into a short bed Cheyenne too at some point. I'm a big dreamer and would love to have a Super Cheyenne big block 4x4....Anyway can anyone answer the above questions? Thanks....
