purple parts pickup

Sold the wife's old Honda, used the money to buy this 66 parts hauler over the weekend - nice, but not too nice to drive to work (the Honda never gave me the silly grin while driving)

Re: purple parts pickup

Thanks for the kind comments-
Now my challenge will be to spend my weekends building the truck instead of finding reasons to drive the parts hauler!

Re: purple parts pickup

Some people, like my wife, don't consider Elky's to be pickups.

My daughter thought she was clever when she referred to it as a "mullet" car-
business in the front, party in the rear - my son will inherit the elco

its a good thing your daughter knows what a "mullet" is so she can avoid them later in life.

Mild 350/350 - I think I'll swap the trans for a 700r4 since it's now my daily driver, use the fresh 350TH with the shift kit behind the big block going in my truck soon.

Re: purple parts pickup

Crescent, Oklahoma. I delivered lumber to the yard there around 74. That was just before they shut down the plutonium plant and the town almost became a ghost town.

Yeah, Fred.
Weird tangent here, but that Cimarron plant was the subject of the movie "Silkwood" years ago. My father-in-law was Mayor of Crescent at the time, and Karen Silkwood died under mysterious circumstances on the highway I drive to work every day.
My son-in-law now works at the lumber yard. Small world.
