corvette chassis

Hey guys,
what generation of these trucks, if any, are able to use a corvette chassis with all the suspension parts. I got a stripped down 84 vette chasis that i need to get rid of. If not i might end up just dumping it. Its taking up space. I figure if it worked on any of these trucks i would let it go in here.

Re: corvette chassis

A C-4 rearend will fit nicely. I've seen pictures of a C10 with a Vette suspension. The four link is sweet. I'm not so sure about the front. A truck has more % weight on the front.

Actually, the last year for the C/K designation was 1986, after that they were R/V 1500/2500/3500. OBS Crew cabs hung around until 1991 as well.

I assume that means you are offering it for free. If not that would be offering an item for sale and that option is only available to subscribing members.

If you are talking about using the rolling chassis, that would be none of the 73-87's. Corvette wheelbase is 96.2", a c10 SWB is 117.5" a K5 Blazer is 106.5"

Re: corvette chassis

Fitting in a C4 rearend is a cool way to lower a truck and give it independent suspension!
Those rearends are expensive and it requires modifying the frame that is why i didnīt do it but i still have that idea in my head!
Should be a great opportunity to get it with the complete frame to make all the maesurements!

Re: corvette chassis

84 frame won't work it was the first year Corvette without the true frame rail system. About all it would be good for is measurements to use the components to build the suspension into something else. And that is if it were not ever hit and still was straight. 82 was the last full frame Corvette

Re: corvette chassis

You dont need the entire rail system to do the swap . THere is a company, infact i think the guy is a member of this site, that deals with these chassis and makes parts for the swaps specifically for our trucks.

Also on another note. My intentions are not to sell the chassis without subscribing. I just wanted to ask the guys in here who, ( what type of car enthusiast), would actually have an interest in a chassis like this. If i find that guys with trucks in here could use it would give them first dibbs, because this is i would have to say the best forum i have ever belonged to.

Does swervin ervin still make the recessed autometer gauges for the dash?

Re: corvette chassis

Your best bet would be check the 67-72 forum. I know there are a couple of guys building them for that gen of truck. Forum member Byrd is one that comes to mind.

Re: corvette chassis

Porterbuilt dropmember C4 uses the front suspension I think he was working on somthing to incorperate the rear contact Nate at (porterbuiltstreetrods.com). he might know where you can get rid of it also.
