a/c working again!!
After 1.5 years the A/C is working again!! It's nice to have A/C again. The dual 14" fans are not going to cut it. I need more air flow for extreme A/C cooling. I'm looking at either a Dodge Viper or Mark VIII fan. Both fans have dual speeds available. Ideal setup, low speed with a switch and high speed for engine temp activation. I'll post pictures later. The R4 hopefully will hold up on under hard street use. The new custom made hoses are great. I did have the cycle switch fail after the initial charge. I bought a R134 switch and evacuated the system.
$35 for a second vacuum and recharge. |

Re: a/c working again!!
Where did you get the work done and were you satisfied ? Where did you get the custom hoses made at ?
I'm looking to get the A/C in my 77 going again. Gonna use the Sanden compressor with Alan Grove brackets. Gonna do some new custom hoses too and hopefully route it as unobtrusively as possible. |

Re: a/c working again!!
The custom hoses were done by Austin Rebuilders. Located at Oltorf and South First St. I am very happy with the hoses. The shop made my previous stock setup hoses. The hoses have the plastic barrier so freon does not escape. I'll post the pictures tomorrow.
If you need a hookup for a vacuum and charge PM. I was referred to a great guy by my local parts store guy. I did not call back the guy who did the initial charge. He was in too much of a hurry for my taste. |
