Replacing rockers and maybe more....
Hey guys, I'm going to be replacing my rockers soon, and need some input please. I was looking at LMC's rockers, and also noticed Summit has some, but also there is another place called Tabco that claims made in the USA. Any one have any firsthand experience with the panels from any or all of these companies? I'm starting to wonder if it is all the same part just sold under different names.
Thanks! Rob |

Re: Replacing rockers and maybe more....
Rob, I have never used their panels, but they are a metal press company based out of Ohio, I spoke to the guy that runs the place their and they seem to be legit. unfortunately I had already bought my cab parts. I think I wll probably use them when I start on the rest of my truck, given the availability of the parts I will need.

Re: Replacing rockers and maybe more....
when I worked at golden state, we sold both tabco, and the goodmark(?) kind was tiawan, tab was usa, I think the tabco was not a full rocker, you might want to ask.
either way we never had any complaints about the fit or quality of either... |

Re: Replacing rockers and maybe more....
you could try the truck and car shop also for your parts....would you mind doing a foto thread of your replacement process? I have to do both rockers on my truck as well, would be great to see fotos of how you went about yours

Re: Replacing rockers and maybe more....
I just bought a set off ebay last week for my suburban and they fit like a glove! they fit better than factory and needed very little tweeking to install. I basicly removed the old rusty stuff and clamped them in place and spotted them in. I got them from williamm7870 out of arizona. hope that helps

Yep, they are locked together, and I'm about to order some new rockers to create a door edge. |

Re: Replacing rockers and maybe more....
We have used tabco parts and yes the are a legitimate company. There is not much differance in the parts and the ones that come from TW and we have installed both The cab corners are pretty heavy gauge thicker than factory gauge so they will leave a ridge on the inside. We sell TriPlus and they are maybe a hair thinner but not enough to matter. their stampings on floor pans are a little crispier but no one can really see it after installed.
Hey do you need any more roof steel for that thing We are cutting the roof off my 65 |

Re: Replacing rockers and maybe more....
padresag...Do you think that was home built, or coach built?
If that is a coach built, don't throw the body away, it sure is unique. It looks like the rear doors were 60-63. If you can I would like to see some other shots of it , side-rear, and how the doors/hinges come together. Last edited by jonzcustomshop; 05-29-2008 at 11:38 AM. |
