Making Progress - 54 Truck Project
Reached a major milestone this weekend when I started the truck using the ignition key for the first time. Got the wiring completed, gauges installed, tune up performed, installed the new trim rings and hubcaps, and even drove it up and down the street a couple of times to the delight of the neighbors.
Started seat riser fabrication and hope to have the seat installed this coming weekend afterwhich I can start installing the insulation while the seat is out getting recovered. More pics can be seen here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...20&uid=2902753 Also made some progress on the roof transplant for a friend's 67. That can be seen here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...90&uid=2902753 |

Sharp truck you've got there. Going to be pretty slick when finished.

Re: Making Progress - 54 Truck Project
I have a hood all painted up but then I decided to see what louvers would look like so I punched another hood half I had with a row of 3 inchers. Here are the pics;
http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...75&uid=2902753 I decided I like the look but would prefer 4 inchers but am having a difficult time finding a shop in the area that has the necessary punch/die set up. If I can't locate one before I am ready to put the truck in the road I will put the other hood on temporarily. I am also looking to see if two rows of 3 could fit on the side of the hood. Maybe a bottom row of 13 and a top row of 8. Not much real estate to work with. I do not want to put the slats on the top surface of the hood as that is not the look I want to go with. |
