will this work

have a 84 1/2 ton with the huge fuel guage & idiot lights. Have found a tach /fuel combination guage. will this work on my truck? Seller says it fits 73- 86 model years. Am a little leary if it will work or not . Anybody?

I don't see why it wouldn't?

All I can see being new is that you'll have to run new wiring for your tach...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes you can do the swap yourself. I can guarantee you will have to repin your wiring harness connector that plugs into the back of the gauge cluster.

HOWEVER, IF you're swapping from idiot lights to gauges for the oil pressure and temp gauges, you will need to swap out the sending units for each as well. Also make sure you have a VOLTAGE GAUGE for the idiot battery light and not an amp gauge as it requires a shunt inline somewheres for it to work properly.
