1953 grill to work on a chevy 1954?

Alright people I got a big question, I am looking to start a new project 1954 chevy truck 5 window...but I was wondering are the 47-53 chevy grill fit on a 1954 or will I have to change the front end of the truck? Ive looked around and have not found a real answer...hope ill find it here thanks.

will have to change the front sheet metal as the fenders are shaped different

meaning inner and outter fenders front splash apron and hood. my .02, keep the 54 frontend as ya dont see alot of them

You would have to change the outer fenders in order to make the early grill fit correctly. The inner fenders, core support and hood are interchangeable.

Please do not modify the 54 fenders if you decide to go this route. Sell them to someone who needs them and get a pair of early fenders. Maybe a swap with someone. The 54 is unique from the earlier years and I would suggest keeping it that way.

Why change? If you need a 54 grill then they sell reproductions or some, like me, may have one stashed away that they may sell you.

If you do make the change then it will never be a true 54 but it is your truck.

they are right. it is probably cheaper and easier to get a 54 grill.

Thanks for all the quick replies. I'll probably stick with th 54 grill just because I though the 53 grill were interchangeable and I had an orignial chrome one stored away. that I could of used but will stick with the 54 grill just would have to have it rechromed.

Sorry solidaxel, the grill not for sale...I will probably end up getting another 47-53 truck, ehile working on the 54. But if I do change my mind ill pm you
