Re: fiberglass hoods...yet again
Yes, you can buy one which a functional latch can be installed. In my experience with these fiberglass hoods the hinge mount point did not have to be changed. BUT, if the hood does not come reinforced the hood will crack and break at the hinge mounts. I dont remember the site I was looking at just the other day but I can tell you that there are hoods you can buy that are reinforced to prevent damage. Your pretty far away or I would sell you mine. I would rather have a fiberglass cowlinducted hood anyway.

Re: fiberglass hoods...yet again
Yeah so far I've found ones that either needed to be pinned or did not support the original hinges or would not ship.

usbody.com has cowl hoods that are heavy duty and use the hinges and latch for $499

Re: fiberglass hoods...yet again
yea they say you cna use hinges and front latch but i mean i just was wondering would the hood last on the street with all the bumps and vibrations, i know from expirence that fiberglass hoods would be better off with pins, but im not tryin to put them on my truck i think it might look tacky
any thoughts?

Re: fiberglass hoods...yet again
My friend has a fibreglass cowl hood and it uses stock hardware.....however, we swapped hood springs as I had a set that would not hold up my stock hood. He used 'em and I used his good springs.
