Inside Door Pictures
Anyone have any pictures showing the inner workings of their 81-87 truck door with power windows and door locks? Want't to make sure where everything goes when add them. Thanks!

Ouch - too bad this wasn't asked a week ago. I was actually working to try and replace a window motor. Had my door panel off and all the "guts" out. It's all back together now .
Anyway, I don't know how much different it is from the manual window models. The motor is mounted to the regulator assembly (I think that's what I've heard it called) inside the door. The assembly is removed by removing the 4 fasteners (2 bolts and 2 nuts on studs) located behind the inner door liner - toward the hinge end of the door. The assembly then just slides toward the back as the arms and rollers come out of the tracks. The whole works comes out of the large square hole on the top right of the door. I don't know if this helps at all, but it's the best I can do for now. Sorry no pics (just a thousand words). |
