power steering for original front end

Not mine.
Just saw this on the HAMB.
Didn't know if anyone was looking for such a set up.

Wish we knew what steering box he used

and how well it worked
If it works would really like to have one !

Re: power steering for original front end

It's mine. It was on the truck when I bought it. The prior owner gave me the installation paper work - i think from CPP - will have to pull it out of my files and be sure. It was simply bolted to the outer part of the driver side frame. The truck had a late model GM column and it was connected by a shaft to a rag joint on the gear box. The setup worked great - very easy steering and did not wander at 70 mph. Box was tight with minimal if any play in the wheel and it was not twitchy. I don't know what gear box it is but it is a good size GM - i would have to count the splines and check the model numbers to be sure.

that looks like the one cpp sells using a 73'-87' chevy pickup box. looked at one and owner said it limits wheel and tire size or you have rubbing issues because box is mounted outside the frame. toyota box conversion are mounted in stock location. smoking deal if your running narrow wheel and tire combo.

Re: power steering for original front end

I have been informed this is an illegal thread and I have received an infraction because of it. Guys, if there is something for sale on another forum you may not want to put a link to it here. I put answers to your questions in the thread since i recognized my ad on HAMB. I guess if you want to put a link to other peoples ads on other web sites you should put them in the for sale section of this forum if you are a card-carrying member.
Thanks and sorry to everybody here if i contributed to a no-no.

Wrong. The thread was revised removing your statement about the item being for sale. You then had the audacity to post that the item had sold, which was what got you the infraction. Since you have now chosen to take this public, enjoy your vacation.
