59 gmc 336

I am looking at building up my 336 some and I would lke to stay with the pontiac motor, will a 370 bolt up to my bellhousing and is that the best route to go or just build up my 336. Any advise would be great. I would also like to put on a 4bl intake, if I can find one.

Thanks
Robert

Re: 59 gmc 336

Any pontiac from 55-60 will bolt in. I would look for a 59-60 389,try to get a complete engine. There were some changes in the way coolant flowed through the engine in 60. In 61 they changed the bellhousing bolt pattern. I think you will be very happy as these engines perform pretty well. Here's a site with alot of early pontiac v-8 info http://www.pontiacsafari.com/
