negetive battery cable
I have a silly question- Where is the best spot to mount negetive battery cable? the engine block, frame, or does it matter??? thanks

The factory location for the negative cable of a 4-5-6 Chevy truck is on the engine block, usually on the first bolt of the passenger side exhaust manifold.

Get one from the battery to the block, the block to the frame, and the frame to the body. All are very critical to have a sound electrical system.

I believe this is the stock ground location on my 65, an extended water pump bolt and extra nut. (The ground wire going to the right is some of my electric fan mod). The engine is grounded to the body by two straps, one on each side of the engine as shown; as mentioned, you need these.
