Hi from Germany

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site and just wanted to introduce myself.
my name is logan/Thomas from Nuremberg, Germany (Franconia/Bavaria).

I made frist contact with US built cars when I was a kid in the eraly 90s, my dad had a joboffer in Rockville Maryland and so we moved there and stayed for about 2 years We had a Cevy Lumina back then, but I always wanted my parents to buy on of these big trucks I saw every day on my way to school. What can I say, they didn't buy one, but some years later I did!

I bought a (december) 1980 built Chevrolet C10 (modelyear 1981). The truck was originally bought by some italian guy and was used as a campingtruck
I gave it a new engine (chevy 350 tbi from a 91 g20) and a new paintjob so far.

At the moment I'm doing some more changes (lowring, new rims, phantomgrill) so the picture in the attachment is just a little sneak preview for you I need to keep all the changes (german) Street legal (we have very very very very strict laws here...)

okay, hope my english didn't get to bad over the years and you guys can somehow figure out what I'm trying to tell!

Thomas / logan

Re: Hi from Germany

Guten Tag!

We have a few European board members, some in Germany and Austria...

I use to live in Darmstadt back in the 90's.. Just took the wife there this summer, we both love the area...

Good luck with the truck, I don't envy your gas prices but I love the Autobahn!

Re: Hi from Germany

Welcome to the site, I am new here too. What I have found is that this place is kind of like Home Depot (or OBI for you), once you walk in it is easy to get distracted from what you are looking for because everything is an answer to a question. I have spent three hours on the board just reading, then realizing that I have not looked at the thread I had originally logged on to look at. I have found it very informitive and helpful, happy hunting.

Welcome from Texas. I was stationed at Schwabach and Neu Ulm from 1963-1966. One of my favorite places to visit was Neuremberg. Really love my time in Germany. Good luck.

If the weather is nice I will be at both meets.

Nice Pics. Do you have any problems with the sidepipes at TEUV Time?

(TUEV = German Inspection)

The sidepipe is approved by TUEV, so no problem there. But the Phantomgrill... that's another story....
