Windshield Trim Question

I was curious if the stainless windshield trim was part of the Custom Cab trim package or if it was a seperately ordered option. The reason I ask is that, over a period of time, I have purchased 3 parts trucks that had the CC package but no windshield trim. The trucks were all different years (1-64 long, 1-65 long and 1-66 shorty) and had the CC flags on the cab, side trim but no windshield stainless.

Anybody know?

Re: Windshield Trim Question

wonder if the w/s was replaced, and a custom trim gasket was not available?

Re: Windshield Trim Question

That's what I was initially thinking. I thought it was sort of odd, though, that all 3 had at sometime had the windshield changed.

Re: Windshield Trim Question

The stainless steel windshield trim was an option, however it is also found on the Custom Comfort/Custom Cab dealer installed option package.

I have had several 4-5-6 trucks with the option and also had windshield and gaskets replaced with the trim reinstalled. The gasket is installed on the windshield and the trim is then installed on the gasket and then the whole assembly is installed in the truck. It is near impossible to install the trim after the windshield is installed. This is my personal experience and that of the windshield shops I have been to.

If you have factory stainless steel windshield trim you are fed-up with and want to throw away, hit me with a PM and I will give it a good home.

Good luck with your project.
