Stock Helper Springs 66 C10
My truck came with helper leaf springs, or so it says on the glove box door sticker. My grandpa probably took them off at some time, although I can't imagine why as he hauled anything from gravel to livestock in the truck!
I found a set awhile back. I'm hoping to have them cleaned up, painted and then mount them. There appears to be a round rubber bumper piece on the ends that just bolts on. I would like to replace those. Anybody know where one might find something like that? Also, would they be hard to put back together if I have them disassembled and blasted? I know I'm wondering a lot of questions out loud here, but...do you think a spring shop would be able to provide all of this...cleaning, replace bumpers, and paint? I'm going to see if we have a local spring shop tomorrow and see if they can provide input. I thought one of you guys who do the factory stock stuff might know. Thanks! Bob |

lmc has the rubber bumpers u need. On my springs I used a wire wheel then painted the crap out of them. I also used some new grade8s to put them back on with.

Thanks Jason,
Did yours turn out ok, and were you satisfied with the look w/o disassembly? Thanks |

I'ts not show quality but it looks good. You wouldnt see the imperfections unless you face was a foot from them. If you use a small wire wheel for the grooves you can get it pretty good.
