Turn signal switch / wheel lock removal tool FYI
FYI if your replacing your turn signal switch, or rebuilding your column, Auto Zone has GM tool part number J2365-A, under tool number 27044 for $15. This is a must when removing and installing the wheel lock plate, as a big spring must be compressed when removing/installing a snap ring. They also have the turn signal switch for $25. Got as far as getting down to the switch, then put it back together untill next weekend. PS my switch has a broken return spring, and no, the new springs on the new switch isn't the same. Was going to just swap a spring. LOL

Re: Turn signal switch / wheel lock removal tool FYI
Personally I would change the ignition lock cylinder, and ignition switch while i was there, rather than removing it all again when it breaks

Re: Turn signal switch / wheel lock removal tool FYI
yeah that is what I would do as well. I don't have that tool but have removed plenty of locking plates. I can see how the tool would help. Since they used a different key for the ignition and the door locks you can get the tumbler form almost anything with the same column. I had one from a 94 c1500 column that had the black trim and black GM key that i put in my 89 wrangler. they all use the Saginaw column.
