seems like i got a mess of a firewall
i pulled the motor out today (4.3 tbi) and its a mess in the engine bay, im putting a carbed 350 in there so do i need that intimidating wire harness? what can i take off the firewall to clean it up a bit... also stupid question i know but how do the fenders come off? i dont see no bolts along the top or anything

Easy part first. I'm assuming this is 87 since TBI.
Fenders bolt to the firewall, at the top and bottom and IIRC one thru the dooor opening, to the inner fender along the wheel well, and to the radiator support up front. For the wiring, the engine harness and dash harness are different on a carb motor. Easiest thing to do is to get a 82-83 harness (pre-computer). All you really need is ignition, charging, and whatever gauge wiring you need. I think there is a sticky on the circuits here somewhere. Under the dash, the ECM and all of it's wiring are not needed. IIRC you can unplug the harness and push one side of it back out into the engine compartment, and the other side has to be unburied from the dash. Sent you a PM.
