Wiper delay 78-83

I saw that Classic Parts (chevyduty) has the wiper switch with delay and the control module available.
My question is this; if my '82 K5 didn't have delay originally is it as simple as just plugging in the module with the new switch?

That's it. The module goes between the new switch and the wiring harness plug

I've heard that the original modules had a habit of going crazy. Are the ones currently sold any better ?

Re: Wiper delay 78-83

Mine are both new GM parts and work so far, but I've only had it in for 2 months.

My stock one will go months without turning on by its self, then it will happen a handful of times in a few days.

Re: Wiper delay 78-83

Is this the same for a 1986 K10 truck, mine currently has 2 speed wipers, and I would like delay if I can.....

Is it a simple plug and play or is there more to it

Duro

It's a different setup, it's a dash mounted switch. I think it ranges from 78-(82 or 83). It wont work on the colum mounted setup.

Re: Wiper delay 78-83

For the 86 model you'll have to swap out the switch and turn signal arm as well as add in the control module. I'll get the O.E.M. part numbers for you tomorrow at work. Two questions though... Tilt or no tilt? an with or without cruise control?
