swap out.
Hi guys. first time post and it might seem a little strange of what i want to do so here goes. I have a 77model c20 that i am doing up over here in Australia and what i want to do is ditch the rear dana 8lug diff for a 9 inch from a F-truck which is pretty straight forward. but what i want to know is if i want to change the front to 5 lug C10 do i have to get C10 spindles, discs calipers and so on or are the lugs pressed in to the rotors and i can make the change like that or are they different. Any help on this subject would be much appreciated

Re: swap out.
Probably have to chang the spindles, rotors and calipers and even the ball joints. Biggest thing is the ford rear and gm front 5 lugs will be different bolt patterns...

Re: swap out.
Yeah the 9 inch i got is a 5 on 5. and over here there is a better range of 5 lug wheels than 8. Did they make any c20's with 5 lugs or only 8. i see a few longbeds that are 5 but not too sure if they are 10's or 20's. i have a custom made stepside tub made up for the rear and only have a set of fibreglass guards. they are about 5inchs too narrow so i gotta fill them out to gat the look i want. the project is a cab off deal. when i get my camera back from the old lady i will post some pics of my slow progress.

Re: swap out.
You might have issues getting it engineered in QLD, as far as I know there are issues with the downgrading of the GVM as stated on the compliance plate vs the actual carrying capacity of the truck. Whilst this makes no difference as long as you own it and your the only driver, if you sell it or loan it to somebody and if they overload it or whatever. I have looked into it for my C20 and the RTA have some very funny views on the subject down here in NSW
