No more Classic Industries

Been ordering from Classic Industries for years. I was just going to order a LH rocker panel from them They listed the panel at $39 then tried to tack on $27 in Shipping and Handling. Really? Ordered the part from LCM, any one know of another vender for 60-66 Chev or GMC sheet metal?

Tony,

I don't see a catalog for 60-66 trucks at Year One, only the later models.

You are correct about Year One, only '67-'72 Chevy trucks, but there are a number of parts that are interchangeable, namely some engine and suspension items. Not to mention, the Year One catalog is quite impressive. Thanks for pointing this out. I flipped through it page-by-page last night...very impressive.

Re: No more Classic Industries

ive found that bowtiebits is the cheapest , they have a 10% shipping policy or atleast 8.95 , ive had no problem with them , 10% is pretty easy to figure out .

Re: No more Classic Industries

Shipping due to fuel has almost made paying tax+retail locally worth it again.

Re: No more Classic Industries

Fuel prices and fuel surcharge have gone down, so shipping SHOULD be down by now. If not, they are taking advantage of it still.

Re: No more Classic Industries

I have ordered form both LMC and Truck and Car Shop. I had a good experience from both. Classic industries prices have scared me away from ever ordering from them. A part that weighs about a pound, they wanted over 10 bucks for shipping. Eff that

Same here and I live about 1.5 miles from their place.

Made the mistake of ordering a gas cap via UPS, because the the last wait in their showroom was 95 minutes: $9.75 "Shipping and Handling." Never again - they've got quite a racket going there and the counter help is simply lame.

Re: No more Classic Industries

Thanks all for the tips on the other vendors. I got a lame e-mail from Classic Industries about the 17.50 oversize charge they said UPS charged them, I told them I got the rocker from LMC & pd $9 total shipping. Haven't heard back from Classic Industries since I sent them the link to this posting. TS

You probably won’t. C/S isn’t their strength. Bought a heater core for my 66’ GMC two years ago - looked as if it was dropped from the top of a 20 foot pallet rack - crushed on one end. Wrote a letter about their lack of pre-shipping inspection (the box looked like an accordion) with my return, for refund, and they ignored it. That’s what I do with them now.

Re: No more Classic Industries

I've noticed that Classic Ind. is way high on their prices also!

Shipping and handling costs were getting high anyway before gas prices went through the roof, but they've only gotten worse of course.
