Re: I am looking for !!

I'm not trying to get anything started here, But if this is true what your saying Tony, then you are breaking the rules yourself. I have not become a site supporter as of yet, but I was able to buy parts from you..All this young man was wanting was some info on the parts on the column... I myself was in the same boat as he is, and if not for the link that Mr.ShortyCox provided me, I would have been lost.

i fixed mine with simple welding..

its easy to remove, take the linkages loose, take the fender flare of, the bolt off the steering box, and drop the E brake bracket..

DONT DO IT BY YOUR SELF

Re: I am looking for !!

and to me this entire thread sounds like a pissing match to me, and that is against the rules so I am sure it will end now.

anyway welcome to the site david. I hope you found the information you needed in the link. Please dont let the bickering within the post scare you..

As far as the supporter deal 4dranch, you can purchase anything you want from anyone on the site that does not constitute a rule violation by anyone.

for clarification anyone can ask a question about resources. Thats what we are here for, to help each other out. If you are "fishing" for parts, then it would be considered a want to buy, and belongs in the classified sections.

Think of the classifieds like a newspaper ad. You pay to place an ad, but anyone can respond to your ad. (ie you must subscribe to post a wtb, fs wtt, etc. ) but any member can reply to those ads.

If you guys have questions about a post, its usually easier to use the report a post button (looks like this ) instead of bickering in the thread.
thanks!

Ok ramble over, and again we welcome you to the site david.

Re: I am looking for !!

Good morning,

It seems I have started quite a battle here, for that I am sorry.

Yes I am brand new to this board, yes I was ONLY looking for resources for my 1963 Chevy fleetside truck.

I recently bought this truck back in November of 2008. It is alomst all original and I am trying to keep it that way. I am not going to make a rod out of it or nothing, I love it original.

That is why I am looking to rebuild the three speed column shifter. I am presently trying to take out the column and send it to a place in Tennesse to have it rebuilt.

Again, I apoligize for the stink, I am not a dealer, or for that matter a wheeler....everyone that has responded back to me has also sent picutres of their trucks...as soon as I can, I will post mine...........I can't wait.....

Thanks to all of the kind hearted.....David DeBauche

PS, we were over -35 degrees below zero up here in what i call Gods Country"......however I did not no that god was this cruel...........we are warming up, 14 degrees is forecasted today ...........heat wave

Re: I am looking for !!

Scott, I read your post one more time and now understand e brake bracket. So let me see if I really understand, 1. remove shaft from steering box . 2. remove linkage. 3. remove bracket on fire wall. 4. remove e brake bracket. 5 Then ????

Thanks again
