Rocker replacement help please!!

Ok so I tore into it today and have some questions. How does the inner rocker line up? There is a part of the inner rocker that the weather strip goes on right? If so when I line up the rocker to it this way the rocker looks to high. If I lower it where the top of the inner rocker lines up flush with the floor pan then no place to attach weather strip. I took some picks of the diff set ups.. can someone tell me which one is right. Thanks in advance. My bloody knuckles will thank you.

Re: Rocker replacement help please!!

The door seal attaches to the lip on the rocker panel and the bottom edge of the inner rocker panel lays flat on the bottom flange of the outer rocker.

Re: Rocker replacement help please!!

so it should look like pictures 2, 3, and 4 when put on. I am just confused bc the lip for the weather strip on the rocker makes the weather strip mount slide on the edge of the rocker not the inner rocker right? Can I get a picture of what this looks like on a truck? The lower door jamb that is with the area were the strip mounts to.

Thanks

Re: Rocker replacement help please!!

Thanks for the pic's they helped a bunch. Now I see what it should look like. Mine was so rusted that the whole area was covered with bondo so I had no starting point. ON the inner rocker it has one hole drilled out on either end. On the support comming down from the A pillar it has 3 holes. From what I messured the one hole on the inner lines up with the middle hole on the support right?

This is the hole I am speaking about.

Re: Rocker replacement help please!!

Sorry I can't answer that one. I only used the back portion of that piece (inner rocker). My front floor pan had a section of inner rocker with it.

Re: Rocker replacement help please!!

well today I blasted the area and cut some more rot out. I have fitted it all in and will be welding it this week. I got some pics and will post once I get some welding done. What I had some issues fig out was that there is a small gap between the floor and the outer rocker. I thought it welded up flush with the floor board. I saw one driving around and stoped him to look. It has a small area for wires and the weather strip to run in. I was trying to make it all flush.... and it was not going to work that way. I will post pics soon.... and thanks for asking!!
