subwoofer box in bed

I am searching for some pictures of trucks with speakerboxes ported into the back of the cab, has anyone on here done this to their truck and if they can help me out and post some pictures.

Thank you.

I agree it's not the greatest thing to do. I have known quite a few people that have done it though. It no matter what will leak at some point. Water isn't the worst thing to worry about leaking in. It's exhaust fumes!

Re: subwoofer box in bed

if your going to do a bed cut. i would keep the piece you cut out so if you decide you want to put it back to stock you can just reweld the piece back into place. just my .02c on that. as for the box leaking just make sure you seal the port up really well with a rubber seal of some sort and make the box is screwed down to the bed so it wont move around and mess up the seal to the cab.

Re: subwoofer box in bed

You won't get good quality bass with a box ported in the cab either. Besides the fact that it will kill the value of your truck, the amount of bass going in the cab will be minimal unless you cut the back out completely.

Have you considered bucket seats and a smaller efficient sub in a console enclosure.

Re: subwoofer box in bed

I'm showing with a bunch of trucks right now that have this sort of mod done. It's called a blow-through and requires alot of work and calculation to do properly. The biggest benefit of course is going to be monster bass thanks to the added room you will have for more equipment.

I'm not against them, but I don't recommend them unless you are going all out with the truck as far as audio/video is concerned.

You can get some awesome sound from shallow subs from Soundstream, JL Audio, Pioneer, Kicker, and others.
