59 Clutch Return Spring

Can anyone show me pictures or an assembly diagram of where the clutch return spring goes on my truck. I am pretty sure it is missing.

FActory Assy Manual shows one from a bracket on the engine oil pan to accuator rod. No scanner at home so can't get you a picture. You might check out some of the on line catalogs, I looked at LCM and they do not show the spring.

I found a tab on my oil pan on that side. The throttle return spring is attached to it. Not sure if that is the one I am supposed to use? The tab is inline with the clutch linkage.

That spring lines up pretty good. Looks like your truck is dualed out. Do you have anymore pictures of your engine? Looks like someone hopped it up some.

I'd like to know this too, I'm putting my truck back together and don't remember how the spring attached. I do remember a spring attached to a tab fastened to the oil pan but he previous owner had this truck all rigged. Not sure if it's correct.
TXdeere, see you are pretty close to me. What's your truck look like? I might have seen you around.

The spring in my '57 V8 was attached to the steering box similar to picture above. When I installed dual exhaust and headers I had to rotate the tab slightly.

Here is what the FAM shows. Any attachment point in the general area will work as long as the tension is about the same.

Mine doesn't have one either! Gotta figure that out somehow. Just noticed that the clutch pedal is a lot lower than it was a while back. Never noticed that it was there, but may have gotten missed during the T5 install????
