rocker and floor pictures need
Tried to find a picture of a eye level view of the rocker and floor with no luck, can any one help. Fitting everything together and the floor to looks to be too high towards the rear. Rocker is preaty level in relation to the other, I could have made the patch of the rear section too high than the original. It was all rotted in this area.

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
Thanks for the link, I am just wondering if the drivers side is any different than the passanger side. You can see it a little bit in the second photo where the floor is too high, I think.

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
I think I will put some self-tap screws in and put the door on to be sure the rocker is in the right place, if it is I will cut the floor again to even everything out.

Hope it helps

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
Ditto me thrice. What I can not figure out is the inner rocker has a top edge. When installed does that fit flush with the floor? Does it stick up and make a channel between the outer rocker and the inner rocker? Whats the deal?

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
I was confused about the same part. I think Alan answered my question in a thread titled "cab support questions". I had a power outage for awhile, so I' m not quite ready for the inner rocker yet, but I thought he told me it just gets tacked to the floor and ground down flush with it.
I passed the 50 year mark last fall, so don't quote me on that!! Last edited by ol Curt; 02-09-2009 at 08:54 PM. |

Here was Alan's answer to my same question. Geez Alan, you know you have turned pro when people start quoting you!

I think the inner rocker I have would stick up above the floor. You can't really tell it in this pic, but the inner most vertical part of the rocker sticks up about 1/8" above the floor. I keep hearing people refer to the door seal fastening to that part and I'm confused about that. Attachment 424365 I ground mine off even with the floor when everything was lined up. The door seal goes over the outer rocker lip. __________________ Alan USAF Vet In God we Trust North Georgia Group 1965 Build 1965 C10 Photobucket 1955 Project (On hold) My first instructional video let me know if it helps Alan's Classic is offline Add to Alan's Classic's Reputation Report Post Reply With Quote Last edited by ol Curt; 02-09-2009 at 09:02 PM. |

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
Thanks for the picture Retodd7711, that is what I needed to see. I am going to have to cut the rear section to lower it a little so it is even. This is where the learning and teaching of this site all comes together, thanks to everyone that chipped in.

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
Well it is a lot worse than I thought I had to cut the section of the floor where it starts to go down to the rocker. I needed a 1/4 inch more to allow the door to shut properly. Hopefully I will be done with this part soon so I can start on the cab corner

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
Anytime, bud.
If you guys need pics of any part on a truck, don't hesitate to ask this forum. The only foolish question is one not asked. I'm not perfect, my truck's not perfect, but Myself and many other guys are willing to run out to the garage and snap a picture for you. Believe me, I'll be needing the favor too!

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
Where does the gap between the floor and the weatherstrip piece end up relative to the inner rocker? Even out here in AZ those rot, and I ve seen so many being replaced on here lately I thought about drilling holes to let out any water that mite sit in the channel.
If it was drilled, would it be in the rocker or outside? Poor design from the factory, I think.

Re: rocker and floor pictures need
by my fitments... now I have not welded any thing together yet but it would drain in the rocker. But it should be able to get out from the corners. I think... lol.
